Goldmine & Coco: Case Study $24K of Additional Revenue PLUS A 600% Increase In Organic Traffic Using SEO: How We Did It In 6 Months
Goldmine & Coco is a planning and stationary company featuring hand-drawn images of everyday African American women. G&C was built on the idea that you can leap into excellence with stationary that truly reflects who you are and inspires you to take action daily.
THE PROBLEM
When Goldmine & Coco (G&C) approached us they were amid a rebrand. The planning community was experiencing climate change due to a sizable controversial issue with a tremendous competitor Goldmine and Coco wanted to get their affairs in order for customers looking to jump ship and find a new company to support.
THE STRATEGY
Competitor Analysis, Keyword Research & Content Planning
Since one of the top goals of G&C was to try and capture market share within the planning industry, we started with competitor analysis and keyword research. Overall, we wanted to see what drove traffic to the top competitors in this space and how we could use that to our advantage. After researching G&C’s top four competitors, pulling low difficulty keywords that drove traffic for their websites, and determine the search intent behind those words, we settled on a list of keywords that were currently non-existent on the website.
WE SPENT SIX MONTHS PRODUCING SEVEN LONG-FORM AND COMPETITIVE BLOG POSTS THAT WOULD COMPETE WITH THE TOP RESULTS ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE.
THE RESULTS
Since Google Analytics was not installed prior to our work together we are unable to compare year over year. However, the below details results over a 6 month period.
$24K of Additional Revenue in 6 months
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:
Creating the right SEO strategy to drive more traffic to your website doesn’t have to be complicated. Each business is unique and will need a tailored approach that makes sense for your products or services. There is no cookie-cutter way to implement SEO.
For Goldmine & Coco, our focus was primarily content as their audience are crafters, always searching for tips and tricks and the latest cool new planning accessories. This put G&C in a prime position to provide relevant content while also highlighting their products.
And while they were not huge on content prior to our working together, they have decided content marketing is something that they will continue in the future.
